11th DocPoint Film Festival draw 28 000 visitors

The 11th DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival closed on Sunday with its films and events drawing 28 000 festival-goers, of which over 22 000 in the cinemas alone. The total of the screenings was 172 and films 134. DocPoint Tallinn, which was organized for the third time, attracted over 3 400 visitors.

What attracted the visitors of DocPoint Helsinki most this year were e.g. Finnish new documentary films, like Finnsurf by Aleksi Raij and Canned Dreams by Katja Gauriloff. Also the international bestsellers, like Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Marshall Curry's if a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front and Vikram Gandhi’s Kumaré brought the audience to cinemas.

DocPoint thanks all the visitors, guests and partners for the fantastic week and welcomes everyone to the DocPoint 2013 next January!
