CHRISTIAN HOLTEN BONKE
Award-winning Danish documentary film Ballroom Dancer shows, what competitive dance is really about: fierce training and emational charge. The film focus on two dancers, Slavik and Anna, who are practising to become world champions.
 
Skilfully directors Christian Holten Bonke and Andreas Koefoed utilise clichés seen on dance movies.

Aliona van der Horst's breathtakingly beautiful Water Children (2011) is a not a film about menstruation, but about the possibilities of life and death. The director and artist Tomoko Mukaiyama will honour DocPoint festival with their visit.

MAHMOUD KAABOUR
Grandma, a Thousand Times is an intimate and touching potrait of a quick-witted and humorous matriarch, director Mahmoud Kaabour's grandmother, whose days are filled with simple joys and longing. This poetic film was awarded in Tribeca film festival.
 
 
Mahmoud Kaabour is award-winning filmmaker and writer from Beirut, Lebanon. His first movie, short film Being Osama received four international awards.

ANYA KANDEL
Anya Kandel founded an organization for transcultural communication, working in Ghana, the Netherlands and California. There, local artists served as mentors to youths, and film served as a tool for their communication across borders. Kandel's documentary film Why do White People Have Black Spots? is the result of local artists working and collaborating with over 150 youth in Ghana.
 
The film is part of DOKKINO's screenings. DOKKINO is a national documentary film event for children and youth organised by DocPoint.

SIRKKA-LIISA KONTTINEN
The photographer, filmmaker and the founder of the Amber Collective Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen has her own retrospective in DocPoint festival. Konttinen was born in Finland, but lives nowadays in Great Britain. She's Internationally well-known and awarded artist. Her films are about homecountry and Scotland, body and soul.

JÉRÔME LAFFONT
Jérôme Laffont is a French director born in 1979. His diploma film was selected to 20 festivals around the world. This year's DocPoint chose Laffont's third documentary film Algeria, Images of Fight as part of the festival programme.

ROBERT RUBINS
The director Robert Rubins' How Are You Doing, Rudolf Ming? is screened as part of the North by Northeast film series of DocPoint. Rubins' acclaimed documentary is a inspiring story about a young boy, Rudolf, obsessed with films and violence.

EYAL SIVAN 
An award-winning and widely discussed Israeli documentary film maker Eyal Sivan is not scared to say his opinions. DocPoint 2012 will present four of master's documentary films, which are critical towards Israeli government and other political issues of the Middle East. One of those is Jaffa, The Orange’s Clockwork (2009).

MINDAUGAS SURVILA
The senitimental Field of Magic follows the people dwelling in the Lithuanian forest through their joys and sorrows. The director Mindaugas Survila and the producers Giedre Beinoriute and Jurga Gluskiniene will represent the film at DocPoint.

Tamar Tal's Life in Stills is touching and intimite documentary of grandmother Miriam and her grandson Ben Peter's relationship. In the shadow of a family tragedy they seek for balance between emotional ties and business, the past and the present.
